How to Select and Wear a Mask for Corona virus Protection | Kuwait
Homemade masks are perfectly reasonable for when we are outside of healthcare setting. When I’m at home, and if I need to go to the grocery store, I use something like this just a cotton bandana that you can wash.
This one is labeled a N95 a N95 usually means it filters 95% of particles that you’re inhaling or you don’t need that level of filtration outside of a medical setting.
This is also one you see a lot. This looks like a medical mask, but actually isn’t validated for are studying you would use that until it is visibly soiled or wet or contaminated are not washable medical masks aren’t necessary in the general public.
We really do want to preserve those also for our Frontline workers. You want to be careful not to contaminate your hands when you are putting it on so grab it by the elastic straps or head straps, whatever you have put it over your face and carefully tuck it behind your ears or tie it so high and your head you always want to be careful not to touch the base part of the face mask while you are wearing it and just take it off by the edges and then you can carefully wash this for your next use.
I do want to emphasize that any time or taking it on and off that you should wash your hands.
You want to store it in something kind of breathable. So a paper bag is a really good option if you have it available to you or just somewhere where you can set it where others won’t touch it and contaminate themselves.
